Especially such a magnificent one, as it falls over the cliff of the Tauferberg here. Due to its scenic location, it was declared a natural monument as early as 1929 and is one of the oldest nature reserves in Tyrol. The jewel was created by a huge landslide that blocked the depression at the south-eastern end. Due to the crystal rock, the mountain lake has very soft water. With an area of 14 ha and a maximum depth of 25 m, it is one of the largest mountain bathing lakes in Tyrol, and despite 915 metres in altitude, it is also one of the warmest (up to 24\u00b0) and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful.<\/p>\n<p>For generations, swimmers and hikers have made a pilgrimage to Lake Piburg See and enjoyed the idyll. At the southern end, a bathing complex with a lake restaurant and terrace offers otherwise rare sunbathing areas and has a raft facility with boat rental.
